Capability
Sourcing, and what Indian veterinary manufacturing can actually do
India makes a very large share of the world's generic veterinary medicines. The quality range is wide. Most of our work is knowing which plants sit where in that range.
The Indian landscape
There are several thousand licensed veterinary formulation units in India. A few dozen operate to a standard that will survive an EU or Australian inspection. A larger group is solid for the Gulf, Africa and Southeast Asia. A long tail exists that we will not buy from at any price.
Our catalogue draws on 101 plants across 16 therapeutic areas. Some of those names you will recognise, because the multinationals have Indian subsidiaries making for the domestic market. Others are strong regional specialists whose products are as good and cost thirty percent less, which is the whole reason a sourcing house exists.

Dosage forms we source
| Form | In catalogue | Typical batch | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oral liquids | 807 | 10,000 to 50,000 units | Deepest capability in India, widest supplier choice |
| Tablets & capsules | 598 | 20,000 to 200,000 packs | Alu-alu, blister or HDPE container |
| Topicals & spot-ons | 423 | 10,000 units | Pipette tooling can drive minimums up |
| Powders & premixes | 228 | 500 kg to 2 tonnes | Feed premix moves by weight, not units |
| Injections | 107 | 5,000 to 50,000 vials | Fewer qualified plants, longer lead times |
| Collars & devices | 17 | 5,000 units | Tooling and moulds for new sizes |
How a plant gets listed
Current manufacturing licence. Current GMP certificate with a readable number and expiry. A site visit by someone from here. A review of how they handled their last complaint. Then a trial order, which we sell before we list the plant across the catalogue.
Plants get delisted too, usually for the same reasons every time: a certificate that lapses and is slow to renew, an unexplained substitution of an excipient, or a batch that fails and is followed by an investigation that reads like a press release.
If we do not list it
Send the molecule, the strength, the presentation and the market. We come back in two or three days with who can make it, at what minimum batch, at roughly what price and by when. Sometimes the honest answer is that nobody we trust makes it, and we say that instead of quoting a plant we have never visited.

Common questions
Do you own a factory?
+
No, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise with photographs of a production line that belongs to somebody else. We buy from named plants, hold their stock and export it. Our value is in sourcing, qualification, documentation and logistics.
Can you source a product that is not in the catalogue?
+
Usually. Send the molecule, strength, presentation and target pack. Within two to three days we will tell you who can make it, at roughly what price, at what minimum batch and in what timeframe, or that we cannot find a plant we would be willing to put our name on.
Which dosage forms are hardest to source well in India?
+
Sterile injectables, particularly lyophilised products and anything requiring terminal sterilisation with a validated process, because the number of plants doing it properly for the veterinary market is much smaller than the number claiming to. Modified-release oral forms and metered-dose devices are also thin.
